I'm finding things I thought I lost
Although finding them will surely cost
Under the bed is a note
I read the words that he wrote
In a drawer is a lock of hair
From when he shaved on a dare
The shoes he painted in my room
Before he brought the gloom
A tear I wish I never found
From a time my heart was drowned
I can almost feel you there
Laughing without a care
My heart aches with your presence
My soul wanting penance
How I wish I hadn't uncovered these
Hadn't unearthed these memories
Some things are better left lost
Before you pay the cost
